The media is a powerful tool to educate and inform the general public about living with HIV. It is important that we provide journalists and other media personnel with up to date information about HIV issues in Australia. These include the causes and effects of HIV, stigma, sensitivities of disclosure, discrimination, emerging issues in prevention, the impact of long-term HIV treatments and the long-term risk factors facing us.
We work to promote a positive image of people living with and affected by HIV with the aim of eliminating prejudice, isolation, stigma and discrimination.
